### 23 Enquiries relating to disqualification
> > (1) The Sheriff is to provide the Commissioner of Police with a copy of –

> > > > (a) each jury list; and
> > >
> > > > (b) a list of persons to be summoned under [section 27](#GS27@EN) .

> > (2) The Commissioner of Police is to –

> > > > (a) cause enquiries to be made as to whether a person named on the jury list or the list of persons to be summoned under [section 27](#GS27@EN) has, or is alleged to have, committed an offence in Tasmania or elsewhere to determine whether the person is disqualified from jury service; and
> > >
> > > > (b) provide a report of the result of those enquiries to the Sheriff.

> > (3) If an enquiry reveals that a person named on a jury list or the list of persons to be summoned under [section 27](#GS27@EN) is disqualified, the Sheriff is to remove the person's name from the jury list or that list.
