27 Summons
(1) The Juries Commissioner must issue a summons to—
(a) a sufficient number of persons selected from a jury list; or
(b) all persons on a jury list.
(2) A summons issued under subsection (1) must—
(a) be addressed to the person at the address recorded in the jury list; and

(b) specify the date, time and place at which the person is required to attend for jury service (whether in person or by audio link, audio visual link or other specified electronic means as set out in the summons); and
(c) be served not less than 10 days before the person is required to attend for jury service.

(2A) For the purpose of subsection (2)(c) "served" includes being served with the summons by means of electronic communication if the person consents to receiving the summons by electronic communication.
(3) The Juries Commissioner may—
(a) recall and cancel a summons; and
(b) issue a fresh summons for the same purpose as that for which the recalled summons was issued.
