59Bribery of witness

#### 59 Bribery of witness (1) A person (the first person) commits an offence if: (a) the first person: (i) asks for, receives or obtains any property, or benefit, of any kind for himself or herself or another person; or (ii) agrees to receive or to obtain any property, or benefit, of any kind for himself or herself or another person; and (b) the first person does so upon an agreement or understanding that any person required to produce a document or other thing under a notice given under section 25 will not produce the document or thing. Penalty: Imprisonment for 5 years. (2) A person commits an offence if the person attempts by any means to induce a person required to produce a document or other thing under a notice given under section 25 not to produce the document or thing. Penalty: Imprisonment for 5 years.
