39Return of seized documents or other things

#### 39 Return of seized documents or other things (1) The Commission may retain any document or other thing that is seized under a search warrant if it is reasonably necessary for the Commission’s investigation. Return of seized things (2) The Commission must return the document or thing to the person from whom it was seized or, if that person is not the owner of the document or thing, to the person who appears to the Commission to be entitled to possession of it, at the earlier of the following: (a) the earliest time it is not reasonably necessary for the Commission to retain the document or thing for the Commission’s investigation; (b) 60 days after the document or thing was seized.
