Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation is a simple housekeeping measure that removes two outdated sets of electoral rules from the 1920s. These old rules (Statutory Rules 1921 No. 32 and 1929 No. 57) originally established joint electoral arrangements between the Australian Government and South Australia—administrative agreements that allowed federal and state elections to share voter rolls, polling places, and staff.

What it does:

Repeals (cancels) the 1921 and 1929 Joint Electoral Regulations
Cleans up defunct legal paperwork that is no longer needed

Who it affects:

Mainly the Australian Electoral Commission and South Australian electoral authorities
Ordinary voters are unaffected; this simply tidies up historical legislation that has been superseded by modern electoral laws
