64 Investigation of complaint
(1) The Minister must investigate a bush fire hazard complaint as soon as practicable after receiving it. (2) The Minister, or a person authorised by the Minister, may, for the purpose of forming an opinion as to whether a bush fire hazard exists on the land to which the complaint relates, enter any part of the land (other than a part of land used only for residential purposes) that it is necessary to inspect in order to form that opinion. (3) However, the Minister or authorised person may only enter the land during daytime hours. (4) The Minister may decline to deal with a complaint, or dismiss a complaint, if the Minister considers the complaint is vexatious, misconceived, frivolous or lacking in substance. (5) The Minister must notify the complainant if the Minister declines to deal with, or dismisses, the complaint.
