84 Power to enter premises to access a vessel
(1) A police officer may enter any premises that are a structure, building or place, and are not used as a residence, to gain access to a vessel for a purpose referred to in subsection 83(1). (2) Subsection (1) does not authorise a police officer to enter premises unless the police officer produces appropriate identification if required by the occupier of the premises. (3) A police officer is not required to comply with subsection (2) if he or she believes on reasonable grounds that to do so would endanger a person. (4) If: (a) a police officer does not comply with subsection (2) because of subsection (3); and (b) the occupier of the premises is present at the premises; the police officer must show appropriate identification to the occupier as soon as practicable after entering the premises.
