8 Minister’s responsibilities
(1) The Minister is responsible for the following matters: (a) ensuring that adequate measures are taken by government agencies to prevent, prepare for, respond to and assist people and communities to recover from, emergencies; (b) coordinating the activities of government agencies in taking those measures; (c) approving the JBT Emergency Management Plan. (2) The following entities are subject to the control and direction of the Minister in the exercise of their functions under this Ordinance: (a) the Emergency Management Committee; (b) the Local Emergency Operations Controller.
