Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act is essentially a budget approval. It authorises the government to take £22 million from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (Australia's main government bank account) and put it into a special trust account called the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Fund.

What the money is for:

Paying invalid pensions (financial support for people unable to work due to disability or illness)
Paying old-age pensions (financial support for elderly people)

In simple terms: This law allows the government to spend taxpayer money on pension payments for vulnerable Australians. It doesn't set the rules about who qualifies or how much they get—that's handled by other laws. This is just the 'cheque' that makes the money available.
