Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This short 1914 money bill transfers £5.5 million from the Consolidated Revenue Fund into the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Fund to finance payments to elderly and disabled Australians. It doesn’t create or define entitlement rules (those come from the 1908 Act); it’s an annual cash injection that kept pensions flowing amid the fiscal strains of World War I, signalling continued commitment to social support.
