Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act gives the government permission to spend £3 million on pensions.

It is a budgetary (appropriation) Act — meaning it authorises the Treasury to pay out money, rather than setting rules about who can receive pensions.

The Act:

Takes £3,000,000 from the government's main account (the Consolidated Revenue Fund)
Puts it into a dedicated Trust Account (the Invalid and Old-age Pensions Fund) established under the Audit Act 1901-1909
Restricts this money solely to paying invalid and old-age pensions

Think of this as the "ATM top-up" legislation that ensures there's cash available to pay pensioners, while separate laws determine who actually qualifies and how much they get.
