2 Repeal and savings
(1) The Ordinances set out in Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Schedule are
repealed.
(2) The laws of the State of South Australia set out in Part 4 of the
Schedule cease to have effect in the Northern Territory as laws of
the Northern Territory.
(3) Where there is, in an Act, or a law of the State of South Australia in
its application to the Northern Territory, made before the
commencement of this Act, a word, expression or provision as to
which there is no provision in this Act which is appropriate to its
interpretation, application or effect but as to which a provision of a
law in force before the commencement of this Act would, but for the
repeal effected by this section, have continued to be appropriate to
its interpretation, application or effect, the provision in that last-
mentioned law continues to apply to the word, expression or
provision in that first-mentioned law, notwithstanding the repeal
effected by this section.
(4) Notwithstanding the repeal effected by this section, in the
interpretation, application or effect of a word, expression or
provision in an Act, or law of the State of South Australia in its
application to the Northern Territory, to or in relation to anything
done or suffered before the commencement of this Act, reference
shall be made to the law as in force or deemed before the
commencement of this Act to be in force at the time when that thing
was done or suffered and not to this Act, and that law continues to
have effect for that purpose.
