Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act gives Australia legal authority to join and be bound by the International Wheat Agreement of 1956, replacing the earlier 1953 approval. It enables the government to participate in coordinated export quotas and price arrangements for wheat.

That matters to wheat farmers, exporters and trade policymakers because it secures Australia’s access to agreed markets and supports international price and supply stability.
