Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These Regulations recognise the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute as a corporate body in Australia and confirm it can enter contracts, hold and dispose of property, and sue or be sued (ss3–4). They commence on gazettal (s2). Mechanically this lets the Institute operate and contract under Australian law; the Institute bears compliance and transaction costs, Australian courts decide disputes, and administrative burden is limited to exercising or defending legal rights (s4).
