Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These Regulations apply the International Organizations (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1963 to INTELSAT, declaring it an international organisation and giving it corporate legal personality and the capacity to contract, hold property and litigate (regs 3–4). They attach the Act’s privileges and immunities but carve out that charges for services on the Organisation’s premises and sales tax on goods may still be payable by the Organisation or others (reg 5(2)–(3)), and allow INTELSAT to waive its privileges (reg 6).
