44B Investigation of public interest complaint when other proceedings on foot

S. 44B(1) amended by No. 31/2024 s. 113(Sch. 1 item 1.81(a)).

(1) Integrity Oversight Victoria may commence or continue to investigate a public interest complaint despite the fact that any proceedings (whether civil or criminal) are on foot, or are commenced, in any court or tribunal that relate to, or are otherwise connected with, the subject matter of the investigation.

(2) If Integrity Oversight Victoria is or becomes aware that such proceedings are on foot, or have been commenced, Integrity Oversight Victoria must take all reasonable steps to ensure that the conduct of the investigation does not prejudice those proceedings.
