### 84 Allowances to witnesses
> > (1) A witness is entitled to receive such of the following as are applicable to that person:
> >
> > > > (a) an allowance for meals;
> > >
> > > > (b) an allowance for travelling;
> > >
> > > > (c) an allowance for accommodation;
> > >
> > > > (d) any other allowance that the Integrity Tribunal considers reasonable.

> > (2) A person who appears before an Integrity Tribunal otherwise than as a witness to an inquiry may apply in writing to the chief executive officer for such of the following as are applicable to that person:
> >
> > > > (a) an allowance for meals;
> > >
> > > > (b) an allowance for travelling;
> > >
> > > > (c) an allowance for accommodation;
> > >
> > > > (d) any other allowance that the chief executive officer considers reasonable.

> > (3) On an application under [subsection (2)](#GS84@Gs2@EN) , the chief executive officer in his or her discretion may, having regard to such matters as he or she considers relevant, approve that the applicant be paid such allowances as the chief executive officer specifies.

> > (4) An allowance under this section is payable on the same terms and at the same rate as is prescribed from time to time for the equivalent allowance in the Tasmanian State Service Award made under the [Industrial Relations Act 1984](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/act-1984-021) .
