49 Contravening requirement to attend (1) A person commits an offence if the person: (a) is required to do something under section 48 and has knowledge of that circumstance; and (b) intentionally fails to comply with the requirement. Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units or imprisonment for 12 months or both. (2) It is a defence to a prosecution for an offence against subsection (1) if the defendant has a reasonable excuse.
