26Terms and conditions of appointment

#### 26 Terms and conditions of appointment (1) The Inspector‑General holds office for such period, not exceeding 5 years, as is specified in the instrument of appointment but, subject to subsection (2), is eligible for re‑appointment. (2) A person is not eligible to be appointed to the office of Inspector‑General more than twice. (3) A person holding office as Inspector‑General, other than a person who is a Judge, holds office on such terms and conditions (if any) in respect of matters not provided for by this Act as are determined by the Governor‑General. (4) The Inspector‑General may be appointed on a full‑time or part‑time basis.
