79Protection of participants

79 Protection of participants (1) A member of a Board of Inquiry has, in respect of the performance of the member's functions as member, the same protection and immunity as a judge of the Supreme Court has in the performance of the judge's duties as judge. (2) A member of staff of a Board of Inquiry has, in the performance of the person's functions in the Board of Inquiry's inquiry, the same protection and immunity as a judge of the Supreme Court has in the performance of the judge's duties as judge. (3) A person legally representing another person in a Board of Inquiry's inquiry has the same protection and immunity as an Australian legal practitioner has in representing a party in proceedings in the Supreme Court. (4) A person who gives information or evidence, or produces a document or other thing, to a Board of Inquiry has the same protection and immunity as a witness has in proceedings in the Supreme Court.
