Tasmania regulation
This Order (effective 31 May 1996) designates Prototroctes maraena (grayling) as “protected fish” under the Inland Fisheries Act 1995, so activities that take, kill or possess grayling become regulated by the Act.
The designation is made by the Order (s4) and is administered by the Department of Environment and Land Management; compliance and any enforcement costs fall on persons who fish, possess or otherwise interfere with grayling, while implementation and enforcement discretion lie with the administering department (ss2–4).
