### 7 Oath or affirmation of office
> > (1) A Commissioner shall, before proceeding to discharge the functions of his office, take before a judge an oath or affirmation in accordance with the form in [Schedule 1](#JS1@EN) .

> > (2) A person appointed under [section 10](#GS10@EN) [(2)](#GS10@Gs2@EN) to act in the office of a Commissioner shall, before proceeding to act in that office, take before a judge an oath or affirmation, being an oath or affirmation that, subject to any necessary modifications, is in accordance with the form in [Schedule 1](#JS1@EN) .
