3 Importation of dogs and cats generally prohibited
(1) Subject to subsection (2), the importation of a dog or cat to Christmas Island is prohibited. (2) The Administrator may approve the importation of a dog if it is an assistance animal. (3) A person may apply in writing to the Administrator for approval to import an assistance animal.
