#### 8ZN Patients to be advised of search, seizure etc. of clinical records (1) If, in the exercise of a power under this Part: (a) an authorised officer; or (b) an officer assisting; examines a record containing clinical details relating to an individual patient, the Chief Executive Medicare must advise the patient in writing of the examination of the record. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply if: (a) so advising the patient would prejudice the investigation in connection with which the powers were exercised; or (b) the Chief Executive Medicare is unable, after making reasonable inquiries, to locate the patient; or (c) the examination of the record did not result in: (i) the authorised officer; or (ii) the officer assisting; obtaining any knowledge of any of the clinical details relating to the patient.
