This declaration appoints Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited (now trading as Hort Innovation) as the official statutory body representing Australia’s horticulture industry (covering fruits, vegetables, nuts, turf, and nursery products).

It assigns the company two specific legal functions under the Horticulture Marketing and Research and Development Services Act 2000:

Industry services body: To manage marketing campaigns and coordinate research & development (R&D) funded by industry levies.
Industry export control body: To regulate and manage the export of horticultural produce.

The declaration took effect on 25 November 2014, legally authorising the company to perform these roles and receive compulsory levy contributions from growers.
