Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

Horticulture Australia Limited is officially appointed the Industry Services Body for Australian horticulture from 1 February 2001. This gives HAL legal authority to collect statutory levies and to coordinate national research, development and marketing for fruit, vegetable and nut growers.

The declaration activates the Act’s statutory framework so levy-funded R&D and marketing can proceed nationally rather than state-by-state.
