Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations establish basic administrative rules for the Honey Industry Board, which operates under the Honey Industry Act 1962.

What it does: The regulations set out two simple rules:

Naming — Officially calls these rules the "Honey Industry Regulations"
Financial controls — Requires two people to sign every cheque drawn on the Board's bank accounts: the Board's Secretary and one member of the Board

Who it affects: Primarily the Honey Industry Board itself, its Secretary, and Board members. It also affects banks and anyone receiving payments from the Board, as they need properly dual-signed cheques.

Why it matters: The two-signature rule is a standard anti-fraud measure. By requiring both a staff member (the Secretary) and a Board member to sign off on payments, it prevents any single person from misusing the Board's funds.
