7 Regional Directors
(1) For the purposes of this Act, the Secretary shall: (a) in respect of each State—appoint an officer of the Department to be the Regional Director for that State; and (b) in respect of the Australian Capital Territory—appoint an officer of the Department to be the Regional Director for that Territory. (1A) An appointment under this section may be an appointment of: (a) a specified officer of the Department only; or (b) every officer of the Department from time to time holding, or performing the duties of, a specified office in the Department. (2) For the purposes of this section, the Northern Territory shall be deemed to be part of the State of South Australia.
