57 Exemption from insurance in relation to retirement villages
> > (1) A holder of a contractor licence who does, or enters into a contract to do, residential building work on behalf of a developer, being residential building work relating to the construction of a self contained dwelling in a retirement village, is exempt from the requirements of Part 6 of the Act in respect of that residential building work.

> > (2) A holder of a contractor licence who does, or enters into a contract to do, residential building work on behalf of an operator of a retirement village, being residential building work relating to that retirement village, is exempt from the requirements of Part 6 of the Act in respect of that residential building work.

> > (3) For the purposes of this clause, retirement village has the same meaning as in the [Retirement Villages Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1999-081), except that it does not include a retirement village that is subject to a community land scheme, company title scheme or strata scheme.

> > (4) In this clause—

> > community land scheme means a scheme (other than a strata scheme) within the meaning of the [Community Land Management Act 2021](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2021-007).

> > company title scheme has the same meaning as it has in the [Retirement Villages Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1999-081).
> >
> > operator has the same meaning as it has in the [Retirement Villages Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1999-081).
> >
> > strata scheme has the same meaning as it has in the [Strata Schemes Management Act 2015](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2015-050).
