Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument removes government approval from Metro Screen Limited to operate as a vocational education and training (VET) provider.

What it does:

Revokes Metro Screen Limited’s status as an approved VET provider under the Higher Education Support Act 2003
Cancels the company’s original approval instrument (No. 33 of 2013)

Why this matters: Under Australian law, training providers must be approved to access Commonwealth funding schemes (such as VET FEE-HELP, which allowed students to take out government loans for vocational courses). Once revoked, Metro Screen Limited could no longer offer these subsidised places or Commonwealth-supported training.

Who is affected:

Metro Screen Limited (ACN 002 223 832) — the company loses its provider status immediately upon registration of this instrument
Students — those enrolled or considering enrolment could no longer access government loans for courses at this provider
