Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This legislative instrument revokes the approval of Franklyn Scholar (Australia) Pty Ltd to operate as a VET (Vocational Education and Training) provider under the Higher Education Support Act 2003.

What this means:

The company can no longer offer government-funded student loans (such as VET Student Loans) to students
Students enrolling with Franklyn Scholar cannot access income-contingent loans from the government to pay for their vocational courses
The company loses its formal status as an approved provider under federal higher education laws

Why this matters: This is essentially the government 'de-registering' the provider from the student loan scheme. Without this approval, the provider cannot attract students who rely on government loans to pay tuition fees, significantly impacting its ability to operate in the vocational education market.
