Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: An official notice cancelling a private training college's registration to offer vocational courses under Commonwealth government funding schemes.

Who it affects: Navitas College of Public Safety Pty Ltd (ABN 96 082 492 206).

What it does:

Revokes the college's approval as a VET (Vocational Education and Training) provider, which was originally granted on 6 September 2010
This means the college can no longer offer courses eligible for Commonwealth assistance (such as government subsidies or loan schemes like HELP)
Importantly, the college requested this cancellation themselves — this is a voluntary withdrawal, not a penalty for wrongdoing
The cancellation takes effect on 9 October 2014

Why it matters: Once effective, students could no longer use Australian Government financial support to study at this institution. The college was essentially opting out of the national vocational education funding system.
