Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This document officially cancels the government approval of Careers Australia College of Healthcare Pty Ltd to operate as a Vocational Education and Training (VET) provider under the Higher Education Support Act 2003.

Who it affects:

Careers Australia College of Healthcare Pty Ltd: The college itself, which voluntarily requested this revocation
Students: Current and prospective students can no longer access Commonwealth VET loans (such as VET FEE-HELP) at this institution from 17 July 2013 onwards

Why it matters: Without approval as a VET provider, the college cannot offer courses eligible for federal government funding or income-contingent loans. Unlike forced cancellations (which occur when providers breach rules), this revocation happened because the college asked the Minister to withdraw its own approval—effectively choosing to exit the subsidised vocational education sector. The notice formalises this exit and sets the date the approval ceases.
