Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This determination sets 2009 spending caps for Australian Government university research funding — a roughly $1.15 billion ceiling divided across support for research ($526.9m), research training ($603.2m), systemic infrastructure ($15.4m) and promotion of scholarship ($4.7m). It limits total government outlays and determines how universities’ shares are allocated under the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
