#### 26 Definitions 26 Definitions > In this Part: > > officer, in relation to a former institution, means a person who, immediately before the relevant commencement, held any salaried office or employment in the staff establishment of that institution (otherwise than as a temporary staff member or a staff member employed on a fixed term contract) and includes, in the case of the Conservatorium of Music, any member of staff of the Public Service who was, immediately before that commencement, engaged solely in connection with the Conservatorium of Music. > > superannuation scheme means a scheme, fund or arrangement under which any superannuation or retirement benefits are provided and which is established by or under an Act. > > temporary staff member, in relation to a former institution, means a person who, immediately before the relevant commencement, was employed in the staff establishment of that institution on terms and conditions that allowed for his or her services to be dispensed with at any time.
