25 Recovery of land, person not named defendant (1) Where a person not named as defendant in a writ of summons for the recovery of land has obtained leave of the Court or a Justice to appear and defend, he shall enter an appearance, in accordance with the preceding rules of this Order, entitled in the action against the party named in the writ as defendant, and shall forthwith give notice of that appearance to the plaintiff’s solicitor, or, if the plaintiff sues in person, to the plaintiff himself. (2) In subsequent proceedings, that person shall be named as a party defendant to the action.
