53 Notice of registration
S. 53(1) amended by No. 5/2023 s. 52(1).
(1) The Executive Director must publish notice in the Government Gazette of the making of a determination that a place, object or additional land is to be included in the Heritage Register.

(2) A place, object or additional land is included in the Heritage Register on publication of the notice in the Government Gazette.
S. 53(3) substituted by No. 5/2023 s. 52(2).
(3) The notice must specify—
(a) the category or categories of the Heritage Register, or the record of the Heritage Register, to which the place or object is included; or
(b) in the case of additional land, the place to which the land forms part of.

(4) The notice must include sufficient information to provide reasonable identification of the place, object or additional land.
(5) Despite subsection (4), the Heritage Council may determine that some details of identification must not be included in the notice if it considers that if the details were known, there is a real danger that a person may harm the object or place.
(6) The Executive Director must forward notice of any amendment of the Heritage Register to—
(a) the Minister administering the **Planning and** **Environment Act 1987**; and
(b) any responsible authority for a place affected by the amendment and, if the responsible authority is not a municipal council, the relevant municipal council.
