196 Inspector must show identity card (1) An inspector other than a police officer in uniform must produce their identity card on demand and, if practicable, on each occasion before proceeding to act under this Part. (2) An inspector who is a police officer in uniform must produce their identity card on demand. (3) An inspector is not required to produce their identity card on demand if doing so would endanger the health or safety of the inspector, but must in that case produce their identity card as soon as practicable after the demand is made.
