45 Public consultation on heritage significance of places or
(1) If, on completing the assessment, the Council considers places or
objects of the class are of heritage significance, it must:
(a) prepare a statement of heritage value for places or objects of
the class; and
(b) give a written notice to the local government council in whose
area the places or objects are known to be situated; and
(c) publish a notice on the Agency's website inviting submissions
on the heritage significance of places or objects of the class.
(2) A notice under subsection (1)(c) must state:
(a) where copies of the statement of heritage value can be
obtained; and
(b) that submissions are to be made to the Council in writing
within 28 days after the notice mentioned in subsection (1)(c)
is published (the public consultation period).
(3) The Council must make available, without fee, copies of the
statement of heritage value.
