sec.59 Heavy vehicle standards
The national regulations may prescribe vehicle standards ( heavy vehicle standards ) with which heavy vehicles must comply to use roads. Without limiting subsection (1) , the heavy vehicle standards may include requirements applying to— heavy vehicles; or components of heavy vehicles, including component vehicles that are not heavy vehicles; or equipment of heavy vehicles. The national regulations may prescribe exemptions or different requirements for component vehicles that are not heavy vehicles. (sec.59-ssec.1) The national regulations may prescribe vehicle standards ( heavy vehicle standards ) with which heavy vehicles must comply to use roads. (sec.59-ssec.2) Without limiting subsection (1) , the heavy vehicle standards may include requirements applying to— heavy vehicles; or components of heavy vehicles, including component vehicles that are not heavy vehicles; or equipment of heavy vehicles. (sec.59-ssec.3) The national regulations may prescribe exemptions or different requirements for component vehicles that are not heavy vehicles.
