34A Eligibility for re-appointment (1) A director of a board of a public hospital is only eligible for re-appointment if the combined term of the initial appointment, any re-appointment and any proposed re‑appointment does not exceed 9 consecutive years. (2) Despite subsection (1), a director may be re‑appointed if the Minister is satisfied that exceptional circumstances exist which justify the re-appointment. (3) This section applies in relation to a re‑appointment made on or after the third anniversary of the commencement of this section.
