183 Appointment of first chief executive officer (1) The Governor in Council, by Order published in the Government Gazette, may on the recommendation of the Minister, appoint a person to act as the first chief executive officer of a metropolitan health service established by Order under section 181. (2) The Order may specify the period (being not more than 6 months) of appointment and the terms and conditions of appointment of the chief executive officer. (3) If a person is appointed to act as chief executive officer of a metropolitan health service under subsection (1)— (a) the person is deemed to have been appointed by the board of the metropolitan health service; and (b) the appointment is deemed to be approved by the Secretary under section 25.
