116Chief Quality and Safety Officer

116 Chief Quality and Safety Officer (1) There is to be a Chief Quality and Safety Officer. (2) The Chief Quality and Safety Officer must be appointed by the Secretary. (3) A person is eligible to be appointed as the Chief Quality and Safety Officer if— (a) the person is employed under Part 3 of the **Public Administration Act 2004**; and (b) the Secretary is satisfied that the person has the appropriate knowledge and experience to perform the functions of the Chief Quality and Safety Officer. (4) The Chief Quality and Safety Officer is responsible to the Secretary for the performance of the functions and duties set out in this Part.
