82A Application of item 10988 (1) In this rule and item 10988: > immunisation has the meaning given by subrule 84 (1). > registered Aboriginal health worker means a person registered as an Aboriginal health worker under the Health Practitioners Act (NT) who is employed by, or whose services are otherwise retained by, a general practice or health service in the Northern Territory in relation to which the Minister has made a direction under subsection 19 (2) of the Act. (2) Item 10988 applies to an immunisation provided to a person by a registered Aboriginal health worker only if: (a) the registered Aboriginal health worker is appropriately qualified and trained to provide immunisations to persons; and (b) the medical practitioner under whose supervision the immunisation is provided retains responsibility for the health, safety and clinical outcomes of the person. (3) If the cost of the vaccine supplied in connection with a service described in item 10988 is not subsidised by the Commonwealth or a State, the service is taken not to include the supply of that vaccine.
