19 Medical practitioners must be covered by approved professional indemnity insurance
> > (1) A person is not entitled to practise as a medical practitioner in NSW unless the person is covered by approved professional indemnity insurance.

> > (2) (Repealed)

> > (3) Practising as a medical practitioner in NSW without being covered by approved professional indemnity insurance is, for the purposes of the [Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW)](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2009-86a), unsatisfactory professional conduct.

> > (4) This section does not apply to or in respect of a medical practitioner who is not required under the [Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW)](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2009-86a) to be covered by professional indemnity insurance.
