#### 16B Period for making decision on application for Basel permit—extensions for Basel permits (1) If: (a) the application is for a Basel permit; and (b) the Minister thinks that it will take more than 60 days to decide whether to grant the permit; the Minister may extend the decision period by up to a further 60 days. (2) The Minister must give written notice of any extension under subsection (1) to each of the following as soon as practicable: (a) the applicant; (b) in the case of an application for a Basel import permit—the competent authority of the country from which the permit authorises the import of hazardous waste; (c) in the case of a Basel export permit—the following: (i) the competent authority of the country to which the permit authorises the export of hazardous waste (the receiving country); (ii) the competent authority of each country (if any) through which the permit authorises the hazardous waste to be transported in order to export it to the receiving country.
