#### 2A Objects of Act 2A Objects of Act > The objects of this Act are as follows— > > > (a) to provide for the efficient and effective regulation of the harness racing industry, > > > (b) to protect the interests of the harness racing industry and its stakeholders, > > > (c) to facilitate the development and operation of a sustainable and viable harness racing industry, > > > (d) to ensure the integrity of harness racing and associated wagering in the public interest, > > > (e) to provide for the functions and the powers of regulatory bodies, > > > (f) to ensure harness racing industry stakeholder engagement and participation in the strategic development of the harness racing industry as a whole, > > > (g) to protect and promote the welfare of harness racing horses. > > **s 2A:** Ins 2022 No 22, Sch 3\[1\].
