Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These regulations update which training certificates satisfy the Hairdressers Act 1988. They declare Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) or Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516) from the SHB Hairdressing and Beauty Services Training Package (endorsed 21 March 2016) as the prescribed qualifications and revoke the 2003 regulations. They affect hairdressers, barbers, trainees, employers and the regulator by setting the competencies required for registration and by preserving previously declared qualifications and partly completed students under transitional rules.
