12 Recognition of interstate etc guardians and managers
(1) The ACAT must, on application, register the appointment of a person
who is, under a corresponding law—
(a) a guardian for another person who lives outside the ACT; or
(b) a manager of property of another person who lives outside the
ACT.
(2) On registration, the person is taken to be a guardian, or manager of
the property, of the other person, as the case requires, as if the
appointment had been made by the ACAT.
(3) The ACAT must not register an appointment unless the instrument of
appointment, or a copy of it, has been lodged with the ACAT.
corresponding law means a law of a State or of another Territory, or
a law of a prescribed country, that corresponds, or substantially
corresponds, to this Act.
