Commonwealth act
This Act imports the environmental management charge in section 39B of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975 and creates a legal obligation to pay it, but only to the extent the charge qualifies as an excise under section 55 of the Constitution. It commences with Part VA of the GBRMPA and applies that Act’s sections 4 and 5 for administration, so liability, timing and compliance depend on those external provisions.
